One of the first major performers for the 2026 Winter Olympic Opening Ceremony has been announced.

Singer Mariah Carey revealed on Instagram Monday that she will perform at the Opening Ceremony for the Milano Cortina Olympics on Feb. 6, 2026. The theme for next year's Opening Ceremony is "harmony."

It's not the first time Carey will be a part of the Olympics in some way. She previously released a promotional song called "100%" to help raise funds for Team USA at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.

"Mariah Carey fully represents the emotional atmosphere that accompanies the run-up to the Games," the Olympic organizing committee said, per the Associated Press. "Music is a universal language that attracts different stories and sensibilities, and intertwines with the opening ceremony's theme of harmony."

Carey, 56, is a six-time Grammy Award winner and has been nominated for 34 across a career that spans more than three decades.

The Winter Olympics will begin with the Opening Ceremony on Feb. 6 and will conclude on Feb. 22.
