Packers' Micah Parsons Reflects on Torn ACL, 'This Injury is My Greatest Test'

Joseph ZuckerDec 15, 2025

Green Bay Packers star Micah Parsons said he's "sidelined, but I am not defeated" after suffering a torn ACL in Sunday's 34-26 loss to the Denver Broncos.

"This injury is my greatest test—a moment God allowed to strengthen my testimony. I believe He walks with me through this storm and chose me for this fight because He knew my heart could carry it," he said Monday on social media:

The injury brings an abrupt end to a productive season from the four-time Pro Bowler. In 14 appearances for the Packers, he had 12.5 sacks and 12 tackles for loss.

Parsons' presence had an impact on Green Bay's front seven as a collective as well. Rashan Gary's 7.5 sacks match his 2024 total, and he could surpass his career high (9.5). ESPN's Bill Barnwell provided some advanced stats to further illustrate Parsons' value:

"While the splits with and without Parsons weren't quite as significant as they were during his time with the Cowboys, we also saw a pretty significant split in Green Bay's pass defense with their star edge rusher on and off the field. With him in the lineup, the Packers allowed the league's 10th-lowest QBR to opposing quarterbacks. Across 109 dropbacks without him this season, the Packers fell to 22nd by that same metric."

The Packers' playoff outlook was pretty good when a four-game winning streak took their record to 9-3-1. Now, they're seventh in the NFC postseason standings with Sunday's loss.

More importantly, Parsons' absence will present a major headache to head coach Matt LaFleur and defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley over the final three games.

Parsons, meanwhile, will be focused on making a return as early as he can in 2026.
