Josh Jacobs Defends Matt LaFleur amid Hot-Seat Buzz After Packers' Loss to Broncos
The Green Bay Packers are no longer in first place in the NFC North after losing to the Denver Broncos 34-26 on Sunday, and some are starting to wonder about the future of head coach Matt LaFleur.
However, LaFleur appears to still have the support of his players, as star running back Josh Jacobs came to his defense amid the buzz surrounding his job security.
"I don't understand why he gets the flak he does," Jacobs said after the loss, per The Athletic's Michael Silver. "People want him to be perfect. It's wild to me. He has a great record. But that's the world we live in."

LaFleur is likely to face even more pressure, as the Packers also lost star edge rusher Micah Parsons to a season-ending torn ACL in Sunday night's loss. Green Bay's defense ranks sixth in the NFL with 294.6 total yards allowed per game, but things won't be easy without Parsons going forward.
At 9-4-1, the Packers are now clinging to the seventh and final playoff spot in the NFC. If Green Bay avoids a massive collapse, it will be LaFleur's sixth playoff appearance in the last seven years. He has a career .671 winning percentage at the helm, and his counterparts also feel that he should be secure in his job.
"That's crazy," Broncos head coach Sean Payton said of LaFleur potentially being on the hot seat. "Just look at his winning percentage. I think he's really good."
The Packers will have the chance to reclaim the division lead when they meet the Chicago Bears (10-4) on Saturday night.
