Drake Maye Says Patriots Must 'Move on to Next Week' After Collapse in Loss to Bills

Andrew PetersDec 14, 2025

The New England Patriots had the chance to close the door on the division crown race on Sunday, but a late collapse allowed the Buffalo Bills to come back and win, keeping their chances of winning the AFC East alive.

After the loss, star quarterback Drake Maye said there's nothing to do now but shift the focus to Week 16.

"Move on to next week and learn from it," Maye told reporters.

The Patriots, who came into Sunday's game riding a 10-game winning streak, dominated the first half and went into the second leading 24-7. The Bills scored on five consecutive drives in the second half, which was enough to escape with a 35-31 win.

"We know we have some football that's still very important. Keep your head up, knowing that we had a chance. We were there. They made more plays and credit to them," Maye said.

While the Patriots could've secured the division with a win, their hopes of clinching the AFC East are still well within reach. Clearly, Maye is ready to respond to the loss and close out the season strong.
