Andre Baccellia Injury Update, Cardinals WR Hospitalized After Being Stretchered Off

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Andre Baccellia is being transported to a local hospital after suffering a neck injury in Sunday's game against the Houston Texans, per team reporter Mark Dalton.

Baccellia suffered the injury in the first half of Sunday's matchup and was stretchered off the field:

Team reporter Darren Urban noted that Baccellia's helmet remained on while he was evaluated by medical personnel, but his facemask was removed. He gave a thumbs-up to the crowd at NRG Stadium in Houston while he was taken off the field on a stretcher. Dalton added that he "was alert and had full movement of all his extremities."

Baccellia entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2020, signing with the Kansas City Chiefs' practice squad. He also spent time on the New England Patriots' practice squad before joining the Cardinals organization in 2021. He played eight games in 2022, recording seven catches for 45 yards. He spent the next two years bouncing around on Arizona's practice squad before making it back to the active roster this season.

In four games this year., Baccellia had two catches for eight yards while spending most of his time on special teams. He made seven kickoff returns for 183 yards, averaging 26.1 yards per return.

The Cardinals were riding a five-game losing streak into Sunday's game against the Texans. At 3-10, Arizona is headed toward a fourth straight year without a playoff appearance, so changes could be coming this offseason.
