Monroe Freeling NFL Draft 2026 Scouting Report for Carolina Panthers OT
The Carolina Panthers selected Georgia OT Monroe Freeling with the No. 19 overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft.
Monroe Freeling is a well-built, long tackle prospect with good athletic ability who is fluid in pass pro and can snipe backers in the run game. His upright style as a drive-blocker saps his balance and leads to overextending/falling off blocks but his tools and runway for improvement signal a solid starter with upside to climb into a top half of the league tackle.
Freeling is a 6'7", 315-pound tackle prospect who entered the Georgia program as a 4-star recruit in the 2023 class. He turns 22-years old in July.
The former Bulldog finished his career with 16 career starts at left tackle, including 12 in 2025 in his lone season as a full-time starter.
Freeling suffered a left-leg injury on the 10th play of Week 5 vs. Kentucky, exited the game after staying in for one more play, missed the following week vs. Auburn, then returned in Week 7 against Ole Miss.

Where He Wins
2 of 5
— Broad frame with long torso, well-rounded build with good arm length.
— Good quickness with fluid hips to hit and expand his set points when on an island.
— Very good peeling off double-teams and intersecting scraping backers to seal lanes off his backside at the second-level.
— Functional anchor with the contact balance to absorb force and dissipate the bull-rush.
— Clearly improved as the season went on with his best football ahead of him.
Areas of Improvement
3 of 5
— Upright play style leaves him lunging into overextension as a drive-blocker, leading to shaky sustain skills on angle-drive, base and down blocks.
— Susceptible to drift, overset and chase stutters, hesitations and feints against tightly-aligned rushers.
