Caitlin Clark Debuts New Uniform Number, Shines in Videos at Team USA Training Camp

After missing the final 30 games of the 2025 WNBA season between the regular season and playoffs, Caitlin Clark is back playing competitive basketball with Team USA.

USA Basketball posted videos of Clark, wearing No. 17, on the floor at training camp as the coaching and executive staff evaluate players looking to make the roster for the 2026 FIBA World Cup.

With Clark back on the floor and returning from injury, USA Women's National Team managing director Sue Bird praised the Indiana Fever star's progress, noting she looked "great" at practice.

Clark has worn the No. 22 for most of her life in recognition of her birthday (Jan. 22, 2002). It doesn't appear that her number for USA Basketball training camp represents any sort of planned change going forward.

Per a list of jersey numbers obtained by Scott Horner of the Indianapolis Star, none of the players in Team USA camp are wearing the same jersey number they do for their WNBA or college team.

Clark, A'ja Wilson, Sonia Citron, Veronica Burton and Cameron Brink all wear No. 22 in the WNBA, but none of them are using it this weekend in Durham.

The U.S. team has already qualified for the 2026 FIBA World Cup after winning the 2025 Women's AmeriCup. The World Cup will be held from Sept. 4-13 in Germany.
