Tom Brady Talks Drake Maye's Development, Praises Josh McDaniels Amid Patriots Success
Amid a breakout second season from New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, he received high praise from the best quarterback to ever wear a Pats uniform.
On The Herd, Tom Brady spoke highly of Maye, noting his work ethic combined with his skills.
"[Josh McDaniels] just talks about his work ethic, his willingness to get better and improve week in and week out, he's a sponge for information," Brady said (12:50 mark). "And that's more important to me than what I see on the film, because when I hear that, I know that he's doing the things it takes during the week that are gonna show up consistently on the field... He has the physical ability, he has the size, but I think, in terms of physical skill set, his downfield passing ability is awesome."

While Brady recognized how well Maye has played, he also noted that he's in a great system under offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, who was also Brady's offensive coordinator for many years.
"Josh McDaniels has done an incredible job this year for the Patriots," Brady said. "Drake is running the same system that I was in. I know how good that system is for quarterbacks... He's in a great system to be successful."
It's not an exaggeration to say that Maye has looked like an MVP candidate this season. He has the second-most passing yards in the NFL (3,412), the fourth-most touchdowns (23) in the league and has thrown just six interceptions, leading the Patriots to an 11-2 record.
