Snoop Dogg Earns Historic Honorary Coach Title for Team USA at 2026 Winter Olympics
Team USA is going to have an honorary coach for the first time at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy.
And that coach is quite the familiar name.
Rapper and entertainer Snoop Dogg revealed on his LinkedIn profile Thursday that he will be "Team USA's first Honorary Coach, a role that's all about celebrating and supporting athletes beyond what fans see on the field of play."
He continued and explained, "I'm here to bring my voice, my heart, and maybe a little wisdom from the sidelines… to help motivate Team USA, shine a light on the full athlete journey, and uplift the people who make their dreams possible."
Michael Saponara of Billboard noted Snoop Dogg's first task as the honorary coach involves the sale of the Team USA x Coach Snoop capsule collection by Fanatics with the proceeds going to Team USA.
Snoop Dogg was everywhere fans looked during the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
He was a torchbearer ahead of the Opening Ceremony, attended plenty of events, sat with some of the athletes' families and provided commentary during NBC's broadcast of the Games. Whether he was in the studio with Mike Tirico or on the scene in person, he was a memorable part of the Olympics.
And he announced in September he will be back in a similar role during the 2026 Games while exploring Italy and shining a light on the athletes and their stories.
Only this time, Snoop Dogg will be working double duty as Team USA's honorary coach as well.
