Drake Maye, Stefon Diggs React to Patriots Being Home Underdogs to Josh Allen, Bills
The New England Patriots have looked like one of the best teams in the NFL this season, but they'll be underdogs against the Buffalo Bills at home on Sunday.
For quarterback Drake Maye and wide receiver Stefon Diggs, it's just extra motivation.
"I think any time you're at home and you're an underdog, it gives you something to play for a little bit," Maye told reporters. "And I think we're not really worried about whatever the underdog, whatever they set the line at. It's us vs. them regardless of - they put the ball down, it's gonna be 0-0 for 60 minutes…"

Diggs had a similar sentiment to his quarterback.
"I feel like that's good for us. Being an underdog, you know, people like us have been underdogs for our whole life, we're gonna have something to prove regardless of it," he said. "But I think the main thing is, it gets exciting when you're an underdog, when you've got a lot to prove, when you're playing with that edge and you're playing aggressive because nobody believes in us but us."
The Patriots appeared as if they were in for another down year after a 1-2 start to the season, but they've quickly established themselves not only as playoff contenders, but Super Bowl contenders.
New England hasn't lost since Week 3, picking up a handful of quality wins along the way. The Pats' best win remains a 23-20 victory over the Bills in Buffalo in Week 5.
Maye has looked like an MVP candidate despite being in his second season. The former No. 3 overall pick has collected 3,412 passing yards, 23 touchdowns and six interceptions, adding 319 yards and two scores on the ground.
Despite their previous win over the Bills and a 10-game winning streak, the Patriots haven't done enough to establish themselves as the favorites against Buffalo this time around, but a win would likely silence any remaining doubts about them.
For Diggs, being an underdog won't be his only motivation. He'll also be going up against the team he spent four seasons with. The last time he faced Buffalo in October, he collected a season-high 146 receiving yards, so he'll look to repeat that kind of success on Sunday.
Not only would a win over the Bills boost morale heading into the final stretch, it would also give the Patriots their first division title since 2019, when Tom Brady was still around.
Suffice to say, New England has plenty of motivation heading into Sunday's contest.
