Falcons Will Play International Home Game in 2026, What Cities Will NFL Play In?
The Atlanta Falcons will be traveling overseas during the 2026 season.
The Falcons announced Wednesday that they'll be playing an international game as the designated home team next season with the location, date, time, and opponent still to be determined.
The NFL has already revealed, via Jenna West of The Athletic, that 2026 regular-season contests will be taking place in Melbourne (Australia), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), London (England) and Munich (Germany).
The Falcons won't have to worry about making a trip to Australia, though. The Los Angeles Rams have already been designated as the home team in Melbourne.
Atlanta has played in four international contests since the NFL started hosting regular-season games outside of the United States. The Falcons have made appearances in London during the 2014, 2021 and 2023 seasons while traveling to Berlin to face the Indianapolis Colts in Week 10 this year.
Atlanta's most recent international game, a 31-25 loss to the Colts in overtime, generated a large audience. The contest averaged six million viewers across NFL Network's television and digital platforms, ranking as one of the top five international games broadcast on the network.
The Falcons will be looking to bounce back in 2026, as they currently sit at 4-9 and were officially eliminated from the playoffs on Sunday. Atlanta owned a 3-2 record through five games this year, but the team has gone 1-7 since.
