Eighteen teams ultimately passed on selecting players, while the White Sox were the only organization to bring in two Rule 5 prospects.
The Rule 5 draft allows clubs with open spots on their roster to select eligible players from other MLB or minor league rosters.
Clubs had until Nov. 18 to protect any eligible players by adding them to their 40-man rosters.
Fifteen players were selected during the 2024 Rule 5 Draft, per MLB.com's Joe Trezza.
Of those players, Trezza noted the White Sox's Shane Smith, Miami Marlins' Liam Hicks and Toronto Blue Jays' Angel Bastardo were the only ones to stay with their club for the entirety of the 2025 season.
Clubs who participated in this edition of the Rule 5 draft will now hope to find similar success stories in 2025.
