NFL MVP Race 2025-26 Predictions After Updated Odds Entering Week 15

Joe TanseyDec 9, 2025

Matthew Stafford and Drake Maye have taken turns at the front of the NFL Most Valuable Player race for the last few weeks.

Stafford jumped in front of Maye to be the MVP favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook after Week 14.

Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams tore up the Arizona Cardinals offense, while Maye recharged during the New England Patriots' bye week.

The odds suggest Stafford and Maye are in a two-man race for the award, but one or two other quarterbacks might become stronger candidates over the final four weeks of the regular season.

Matthew Stafford (-180)

1 of 4
Rams Cardinals Football

Matthew Stafford's 281-yard performance against the Cardinals in Week 14 inched him in front of Maye on the MVP odds board.

Stafford is the quarterback of the current No. 1 seed in the NFC, which is arguably the tougher conference to win this season compared to the AFC.

Stafford leads the NFL with 35 touchdown passes. No other player has more than 26 this season.

However, Stafford is behind Maye in a handful of other passing categories.

The Rams will be in the national spotlight twice in the next two games. Stafford faces his old team, the Detroit Lions, in Week 15 and then the NFC West title race takes center stage on Thursday night in Seattle in Week 16.

There is potential for Stafford to pull away from Maye in those games, especially if Maye struggles in his two toughest remaining games.

Drake Maye ( 200)

2 of 4
Giants Patriots Football

Drake Maye and the Patriots could lock up the AFC East crown in Week 15.

New England owns a two-game lead over the Buffalo Bills, and with a win on Sunday, it would have a three-game advantage with two head-to-head victories in its favor.

A division-clinching win and then a strong outing in Baltimore on Sunday night in Week 16 could be enough to put Maye back in front of Stafford.

Maye was not expected to be in this position with the Patriots. They can still land the No. 1 seed in the AFC as well.

Maye has more passing yards and a better average per completion and per game in comparison to Stafford.

If he adds a division title and the No. 1 seed to his list of achievements, Maye will be hard to ignore as the MVP.

Jordan Love ( 1000)

3 of 4
Bears Packers Football

Jordan Love has built a solid MVP campaign over the last month.

The Green Bay Packers quarterback led his team to three consecutive wins in the NFC North to move into first place in arguably the toughest division in the NFL.

Love threw seven touchdown passes in the last two wins over the Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears. He now sits in a tie for fifth in touchdown passes and ninth in passing yards. He's only thrown four interceptions all season.

He can strengthen his MVP resume in the next two weeks in road games against the AFC-leading Denver Broncos and in a rematch with the Bears.

Love will probably come up short if Stafford and Maye continue at their current paces, but he's an interesting candidate because of how the Packers have played lately.

Prediction

4 of 4
Giants Patriots Football

Maye resides near, or at the top, of most passing categories and he's the leader of one of the best stories in the NFL in 2025.

If he beats Buffalo in Week 15, there's a chance the odds shift back in his favor.

Maye could also use some help from Love and the Packers to knock Denver out of the top spot in the AFC.

A No. 1 overall seed and a division title for a team that had little playoff expectations in preseason would massive achievements for Maye and the Patriots to earn.

Stafford and the Rams were expected to be in Super Bowl contention, and while he's putting up impressive numbers, Maye has wildly overachieved. That could be the difference in the final MVP vote.
