Jordan Love, Packers Seen as NFC Contenders by Fans After Win vs. Caleb, Bears

Taylyn Hadley Dec 7, 2025

In a battle for the top of the NFC North, the Green Bay Packers came out on top, defeating the Chicago Bears 28-21 on Sunday.

With the tough home win, the Packers improved to 9-3-1 and extended their winning streak to four games, taking over the division lead from the Bears and, more importantly, sliding into one of the four division-leader slots in the playoffs.

Jordan Love finished with 234 yards, three touchdowns and one interception while completing 19-of-35 passes to lead the Packers to the win. He connected with Christian Watson for two scores and 89 yards on the day.

Meanwhile, Caleb Williams threw for 186 yards, two touchdowns and an interception while completing 19-of-35 passes, but his late interception on a potential game-winning drive sealed the victory for Green Bay.

After the Packers' win over their division rivals, fans are eyeing them as NFC contenders.

The two teams will meet again in a decisive head-to-head matchup in two weeks on Sat., Dec. 20 — a game that, depending on how they perform next week, could ultimately decide who emerges from the NFC North.

The NFC North is the only division in the NFC without an eliminated team, creating a crowded race that also includes the 8-5 Detroit Lions and the 5-8 Minnesota Vikings. The Bears have two division games left this season (Green Bay and Detroit), while the Packers also have two remaining (Chicago and Minnesota).

Below is a look at the current NFC playoff standings.
