Ward later discussed the conversation with reporters:
Sanders finished 23-of-42 for 364 yards and three touchdowns compared to one interception during the game, adding a fourth score on the ground.
As for Ward, he went 14-of-28 for 117 yards and two touchdowns while getting picked off once.
The matchup between the rookie quarterbacks was a thrilling one, as the Titans took a 14-3 lead in the first quarter before the Browns stormed back to gain a 17-14 edge at halftime.
Tennessee eventually went back up in the second half and owned a 31-17 advantage with just over six minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, but Sanders led Cleveland on consecutive touchdown drives. A pair of failed two-point conversions prevented the Browns from tying the game and avoiding a loss, though.
The two signal-callers have some history together, as they've worked out with each other since 2022.
"Cam's competitive, it's always fun, getting out there, training with him," Sanders said prior to Sunday's contest, per ESPN's Turron Davenport and Daniel Oyefusi. "And then, we both ended up getting drafted, and we both went our separate ways. And that's really everybody that I played in college with almost, everybody's focused on what they got to do, and it's all love whenever we see each other."
Ward is viewed as Tennessee's future under center, while Sanders is still looking to establish himself as a key piece of Cleveland's offense with the team's 2026 outlook at quarterback uncertain.
The Titans improved to 2-11 with the win, while the Browns fell to 3-10.
