Browns HC Stefanski Explains Shedeur Sanders Not Being on Field for 2-Point Attempt
The Cleveland Browns had the chance to tie things up late against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, but came up short on a two-point conversion attempt.
Quarterback Shedeur Sanders was not on the field for the two-point conversion despite playing well up to that point, but head coach Kevin Stefanski didn't offer much of an explanation as to why.
"It's a two-point play. Didn't come through on our first two-point play, got to our second two-point play, but that's on me."

The Browns' two-point conversion attempt wasn't exactly a thing of beauty. Running back Quinshon Judkins took a direct snap and was looking to pitch it, but the play got broken up. He then threw a reverse pass across the field, and the ball hit the ground, ending the Browns' hopes of tying things up.
While the play looked chaotic on Sunday, Sanders said it had worked in practice before. Because of that, he wasn't against Stefanski's decision to take him out of the game.
"I know we practiced something and we executed it in practice and just didn't seem to this day," he said. "So I would never go against what the call was or anything."
As a competitor, Sanders obviously would have liked to have the ball in his hands in a high-stakes moment, but he also understands there are certain times when the coaches need to take a different approach.
"Sometimes you got to run the ball, sometimes you got to kick a field goal," Sanders said. "That's the most important thing, the ball, in any situation. Of course, you would want to [have the ball in your hands]."
While the Browns fell short against the Titans, Sanders had the best game of his career up to this point. He threw for 364 yards and three touchdowns, adding 29 yards and a score on the ground. He also led Cleveland on two late scoring drives that almost led to a comeback, but the Browns ultimately couldn't convert on the two-point attempt.
