Tennessee's Ward battled, finishing with 117 yards and two touchdowns and an interception while completing 14-of-28 passes as the Titans grabbed their second win of the season, improving to 2-11.
Fans reacted to Sanders' standout performance against Ward and the Titans despite the loss.
The Titans were already eliminated from playoff contention in the AFC, entering the week with one win on the season — a 22-21 victory over Arizona. With their second win, they eliminated the Cleveland Browns, who fell to 3-10.
The remainder of the Browns' season will focus on developing Sanders' skills. He earned his first start in Week 12, a 24-10 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. With four weeks left and no postseason ahead, Sanders will have the chance to hone his NFL game against Chicago, Buffalo, Pittsburgh and Cincinnati.
The Browns will hit the road next Sunday to face the red-hot, playoff bound Chicago Bears.
