Jaylen Wright, Ollie Gordon and Top Fantasy Waiver-Wire RBs After De'Von Achane Injury
The fantasy football playoffs are a week away for many competitors, which makes any injuries all the more difficult to deal with for managers.
Unfortunately for both the Miami Dolphins and fantasy managers with him on their team, running back De'Von Achane suffered an injury during Sunday's game against the New York Jets. The Dolphins announced he was questionable to return shortly after the setback, but he didn't come back into the game.
That means fantasy managers might have to scramble to the waiver wire to find some replacements. With that in mind, here is a look at some possible candidates.

Jaylen Wright/Ollie Gordon
The most obvious move for fantasy managers whenever there is a running back injury is to look for the starter's immediate backup on the waiver wire.
Miami has Jaylen Wright and Ollie Gordon, but Sunday's game indicated one is a much better waiver-wire option than the other.
The Dolphins immediately turned to Wright as their primary running back after Achane left against the Jets, and the Tennessee product provided a reason for optimism with a short-yardage touchdown run near the goal line. A running back's ability to convert those chances near the goal line often makes the difference between a good fantasy day and a poor one, and Wright took advantage.
On the flip side, Gordon was a nonfactor in the offense even after the Achane injury until garbage time. While he scored a touchdown late in the fourth quarter, it was clear the Dolphins preferred Wright when the game was still hanging in the balance.
If Gordon can't establish himself as a major part of the offense when Achane is out, there's no reason to run to the waiver wire to pick him up.
Devin Neal
If fantasy managers want to look outside the Dolphins offense for a waiver-wire option, Devin Neal of the New Orleans Saints is an ideal candidate.
With Alvin Kamara sidelined by injuries, the Saints turned to Neal during Sunday's contest against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. And he delivered with the first touchdown of the game and remained New Orleans' primary running back throughout the divisional contest.
He even mixed in a 14-yard catch, proving he can be a factor in the aerial attack if needed.
While Neal may not have the ceiling of a superstar running back who can put up 25-plus fantasy points every time he steps on the field, there are far worse options on the waiver wire at this time of year.
That makes him worth a risk for managers in need of a replacement for Achane.
