Shedeur Sanders Reacts to Historic Matchup vs. No. 1 Pick Cam Ward After Browns Loss
Sunday's matchup between the Cleveland Browns and Tennessee Titans showcased one quarterback who was taken first overall in this year's draft and one who fell all the way to the fifth round.
The fifth-rounder, Browns' Shedeur Sanders, walked away with the better statistical performance against Tennessee's Cam Ward, though Ward and the Titans won, 31-29.
Sanders, who was starting in his third game with the Browns, threw for 364 yards, four total touchdowns and an interception on 23-of-42 passing. Ward had 117 passing yards, two touchdowns and an interception on 14-of-28 passing.

"I'm comfortable being uncomfortable," Sanders said (14:40 mark). "You gotta understand, that's just kinda like the situation I'm in, and I'm fine with that."
While Sanders was mostly solid, he botched a two-point conversion after fumbling the snap. That came back to haunt the Browns as they were forced to go for two again later on, and also couldn't convert.
"That was on me," he told reporters. "Fumbled snap, so that was on me."
His only other major error was the interception in the third quarter, which he said he'll be hearing from his father and former coach, Deion Sanders, about.
"I know my dad's mad at me for that, for sure," Sanders said. "...As time goes on, those decisions and those things will slim down and we won't be in situations where I have that feeling, like I gotta make something happen."
Even though Sanders has been playing well since taking over as the starter, he also recognized that it's not his team yet. He'll still have to earn that status.
"I mean, a couple of weeks ago, I wasn't the starter," he said. "It's only like, the second or third game."
Overall, Sanders' third start was a good sign of what's to come, but he knows he still has plenty of areas to improve upon.
"I know I didn't play perfect, so it's definitely being able to see that, being able to go over and rekindle my thoughts on what I missed and why I missed it to get to the root of everything so it won't be consistent problems," Sanders said. "So every week, we're looking to change mentally, physically and emotionally so we're all in a better place for next week."
