Latest on J.J. McCarthy's Injury Status After Vikings vs. Giants
Minnesota Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy appears to have avoided a broken bone after X-rays on the hand injury he suffered on Sunday's game against the New York Giants came back negative, according to Ben Goessling of the Minnesota Star Tribune.
McCarty was ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game after suffering a hand injury late in the second quarter.

Despite McCarthy's absence, the Vikings went on to pull out a 16-13 victory:
McCarthy also sat out the entirety of the 2024 campaign after undergoing surgery on an offseason knee injury.
The quarterback also sat out five games after suffering a high ankle sprain on Sept. 14.
He missed another contest after reporting concussion symptoms following a Nov. 23 loss at the Green Bay Packers.
McCarthy had cleared concussion protocol as of Dec. 5, putting him in line to start a Week 14 matchup against the visiting Washington Commanders.
He has seen inconsistent results when available to start so far this season, leading the Vikings to a 4-4 record while completing 56.8 percent of his passes for 11 touchdowns with 11 interceptions.
Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell will hope to help McCarthy take the next step forward in his development as soon as he is able to return.
Should he miss any more time, the Vikings could be left in a tough spot given the struggles of undrafted rookie Max Brosmer during McCarthy's Week 13 absence.
Given that the Vikings released Desmond Ridder ahead of Week 14, however, Brosmer could be considered for another start even after throwing four picks and no interceptions in a Nov. 30 shutout loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
