Fan Shows Off Welt in Photo After Getting Hit by Rory McIlroy Drive at Australian Open

Rory McIlroy literally left an impression on a fan during the second round of the DP World Tour's Australian Open at Royal Melbourne Golf Club on Friday.

Golf Digest shared a photo of a fan who was hit by a McIlroy drive. With a smile on his face, the fan lifted his shirt to reveal a red welt on his right pec:

McIlroy had a spectacular 2025, winning the Masters to complete the career Grand Slam, but he is off to a slow start in Melbourne. He's tied for 28th place at two-under after two rounds.
