Are Cowboys' Playoff Hopes Over? NFL Fans Sound Off After Loss to Jahmyr Gibbs, Lions
The Dallas Cowboys' playoff hopes are in serious jeopardy after a 44-30 loss to the Detroit Lions on Thursday.
Thursday's game was essentially a must-win for Dallas, but its defense crumbled and fell short against the Lions.
Quarterback Dak Prescott continued a tremendous run, throwing for 376 yards and a touchdown, though he also had a costly second-half interception. Star receiver CeeDee Lamb went down with a concussion in the first half, but George Pickens managed 121 yards and Ryan Flournoy added 115 yards and a touchdown.

But that offensive performance wasn't enough on a night where Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs found the endzone three times. Gibbs now has 47 career touchdowns, tying Barry Sanders for the most touchdowns in a player's first three years in the NFL.
With the loss, the Cowboys can still make the playoffs, but it will be tough. Fans weighed in on Dallas' playoff hopes afterwards.
According to The Athletic's playoff simulator, the Cowboys have just a nine percent chance of reaching the postseason after the loss. Winning out would boost their chances to 42 percent, so they will need to be perfect and get some help elsewhere to avoid another playoff absence.
At this point, all Dallas can do is handle business in its final four games and hope things work out elsewhere.
