Aaron Rodgers Explains Critical Comments of WR's Film Habits After Steelers' Loss
After his team's 26-7 home loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, quarterback Aaron Rodgers noted some things the pass-catchers need to do better in order for the reeling 6-6 team's offense to improve.
"When there's film sessions, everybody shows up, and when I check to a route, you do the right route," Rodgers told reporters.
Three days later, Rodgers offered a clarification of those remarks, specifically in response to a question from ESPN's Brooke Pryor about whether the team was getting less than 100 percent participation at film sessions.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
"What I was talking about was during the week, you know, we have our meetings on Thursdays and I meant that everybody come there with an open mind and be self-critical and, you know, work on the things you gotta work on and let's get better. As far as any off-the-field stuff, I'm not gonna get into that," Rodgers said.
Pittsburgh has lost five of seven games after a 4-1 start to drop to 6-6, although the team is still tied atop the AFC North with the Baltimore Ravens.
The offense has been a problem. They are just No. 21 in the NFL in yards per play (5.1) and 15th in points per game (23.4 PPG).
Pittsburgh's offense reached a low point in Sunday's loss to the Bills. Rodgers completed 10-of-21 passes for 117 yards. The run game added just 58 more yards.
Rodgers got into some specifics with reporters and mentioned a few players by name, most notably tight end Jonnu Smith.
"Like Jonnu and I just weren't on the same page. I checked to his in-breaker, and he ran an out-breaker," Rodgers said. "Jonnu is a true professional. I'm sure he's sick about that. I threw a ball I thought was going to get hit by the wind, and it was four yards over Roman [Wilson]. So that's a s--tty throw. I've got to make that throw. We have our meetings every week. We have other opportunities outside of the facility. Look forward to seeing all the boys there."
The Steelers have to get it together quick. They visit the Ravens on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET, and the winner will take first place solo in the AFC North for the time being. Pittsburgh will also host Baltimore to end the season.
The Steelers also have a potentially hard-charging Cincinnati Bengals team behind them by two games with quarterback Joe Burrow now in the mix again after missing nine games with turf toe.
Ultimately, the Steelers' pass game needs to improve, as evidenced by the fact that Rodgers hasn't thrown for more than 171 yards in any of the team's last four games. They'll try to get going on Sunday against the Ravens, who just lost 32-14 at home to the Bengals in Burrow's return.
