Kris Boyd Visits Jets Facility, Attends Meeting amid Recovery from Shooting
New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd, who suffered a gunshot wound to his abdomen on Sunday, Nov. 16, made a surprise visit to his team's Florham Park, New Jersey facility on Wednesday.
Per ESPN's Rich Cimini, Boyd attended the special teams meeting and even broke it down at the end. He also met with numerous teammates and coaches during the day as the Jets prepare for their home game against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
Joe Marino, Jorge Fitz-Gibbon and Kirsten Fleming of the New York Post provided details of the incident.

"Boyd was shot in the abdomen outside Sei Less restaurant after a dispute turned violent, with the gunmen firing two shots, law enforcement sources told The Post.
"The sources said Boyd was with a group of friends outside the trendy hot spot when the dispute broke out, ending with shots fired — but it is unclear if he was the intended target."
Per Cimini, police stated the bullet went to his lung and got lodged in his pulmonary artery. After undergoing multiple medical procedures, Boyd posted on Nov. 19 that he was "starting to breathe on my own."
Thankfully, Boyd appears to be improving, and teammates were thrilled to see him around.
"I've had friends that didn't survive gunshot wounds, so to be able to see him walking around with a smile on his face, be able to [talk] with him, I mean, it's always a blessing," edge rusher Jermaine Johnson said, per Cimini. "[Guns] aren't toys and they're very deadly, so the fact that he walked away from it is a blessing."
"I'm pretty sure every single person that walked by gave him a dap up, a high five or a semi-hug," defensive tackle Harrison Phillips stated.
The 29-year-old Boyd began his NFL career with the Minnesota Vikings in 2019. He played for Minnesota from 2019-2022 before heading to the Arizona Cardinals (2023) and Houston Texans (2023-2024).
The former Texas Longhorn defensive back has carved out a lengthy career for a seventh-round draft pick. He's mainly made a name for himself on special teams over the years, suiting up for 81 games and making 105 tackles (79 solo).
Boyd joined the Jets last offseason but unfortunately was lost for 2025 after suffering a shoulder injury during the team's Green & White practice on Aug. 2.
