Steelers Call Out 'Blatantly False' Rumor That Owner Left Loss to Bills Early
While things are trending in the wrong direction for the Pittsburgh Steelers, the team insisted that owner Art Rooney II didn't leave Sunday's 26-7 loss to the Buffalo Bills early.
Burt Lauten, who is the Steelers' senior director of communication, responded to the rumor and said it was "blatantly false."

Andrew Fillipponi of 93.7 The Fan relayed what he called "a rumor" about Rooney and said, "I don't know for sure if he heard the way fans were sounding or if he hated how the game was going and couldn't bring himself to watch it through and that prompted his exit."
Some fans were chanting for the Steelers to fire head coach Mike Tomlin during the game, which dropped Pittsburgh's record to 6-6 overall. It is also just 2-5 in the last seven and has largely spoiled an impressive start to the season with the recent fall.
While the Steelers have a proud history of winning, including under Tomlin, some fans could be forgiven for thinking things have gotten stale. Their last playoff win came during the 2016 campaign, and they don't look like a team that is about to snap that streak this season.
Sunday was another frustrating game for the AFC North team, which managed just a single touchdown as Aaron Rodgers went an ugly 10-of-21 passing for 117 yards, zero touchdowns and one interception.
Buffalo also ran for 249 yards and controlled the line of scrimmage in a dominant performance.
Things don't get any easier for the Steelers with their next game on the road against the Baltimore Ravens, although a win would put them in first place in the AFC North.
