How Did Aaron Rodgers Celebrate His Birthday With Steelers Teammates?

Doric SamDec 3, 2025

Pittsburgh Steelers veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers was surrounded by teammates as he turned 42 on Tuesday, but there was more working than celebrating.

Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported that Rodgers invited Steelers running backs, wide receivers and tight ends to his house on Tuesday, and while wide receiver Ben Skowronek brought a decorated cake and the players sang "Happy Birthday" to Rodgers, they spent most of their time together watching film and going over plays.

It's understandable that Rodgers wanted to use some extra time to prepare for Pittsburgh's Week 14 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens, as the team has lost five of its last seven games after starting the year with a 4-1 record. Sunday's 26-7 loss to the Buffalo Bills dropped the Steelers' record to 6-6, falling out of first place in the AFC North.

Rodgers has been solid this season with 2,086 yards, 19 touchdowns and seven interceptions, but his age has shown throughout this tough stretch. He's been sacked at least once in each of his last five appearances, and he suffered a fracture in his left wrist that caused him to miss a game before returning against the Bills.

It remains to be seen if the birthday film session will pay off for Rodgers and the Steelers, but it can be expected that the Ravens will be ready to give him a rude awakening in his first game as a 42-year-old.
