The episode started out with Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni and his players discussing the adversity the defending Super Bowl champions have faced so far this season.

That naturally led the episode to focus on the Eagles' crushing loss to the Cowboys in Week 12.

That's when the Cowboys rallied from a 21-point deficit to defeat their division rivals on a walk-off field goal.

Some Eagles fans weren't happy with the episode's starting point:

Cowboys fans meanwhile got a look at their team celebrating not only the comeback against the Eagles but also last Thursday's Thanksgiving Day win over the Kansas City Chiefs.

The rest of the NFC East teams did not see equally happy endings to last weekend's matchups.

Hard Knocks gave a look at Jaxson Dart's work to return from his concussion in time for Monday's loss to the New England Patriots.

The Giants segment featured a conversation between Dart and Theo Johnson debating the location of the Atlantic Ocean.

The episode ended with Giants players swarming the Patriots defense after a hard hit on Dart along the sideline of last Monday's loss.

The Commanders' segment featured injured quarterback Jayden Daniels participating in individual drills as he works his way back toward playing.

It was Marcus Mariota, however, who got the start in last Sunday's overtime loss to the Denver Broncos.

The loss featured a one-handed touchdown catch from Treylon Burks. Dan Quinn told his team postgame it also indicated the Commanders have returned to being a competitive team.

The episode then turned back to Philadelphia, where the Eagles continued to struggle during last Friday's matchup with the Chicago Bears. The defending champs never managed to establish a lead in the Week 13 loss.

Eagles fans will hope to see some more positive results from their team when Episode 2 of Hard Knocks airs next Tuesday, Dec. 9 at 9 p.m. ET.
