NFL Exec Admits Being 'Jealous' of Cowboys' Offensive Players After Win vs. Chiefs

Scott PolacekDec 2, 2025

The Dallas Cowboys have turned their season around behind a high-powered offense, and some around the league are noticing.

"I'm jealous of their offensive players," an NFL executive said, per Jeff Howe of The Athletic.

There is no shortage of offensive star power for the Cowboys with quarterback Dak Prescott throwing to wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, as well as tight end Jake Ferguson. Throw in running back Javonte Williams, and it is a well-rounded group.

Williams is well on his way to 1,000 rushing yards for the first time in his career with 955 through 12 games, while Pickens has already set career-high marks in catches (73), receiving yards (1,142) and touchdown receptions (eight).

Playing alongside Lamb, who has 744 receiving yards despite missing three games, has created more favorable matchups against opposing secondaries for Pickens, and he has taken full advantage to become one of the best receivers in the league.

Only Jaxon Smith-Njigba of the Seattle Seahawks has more receiving yards this season (1,336) than Pickens.

Dallas is first in the league in yards per game and second in points per game and figures to remain a threat in the NFC playoff picture the rest of the way with the offensive unit hitting its stride. It has won three games in a row following a 3-5-1 start, and two of those wins came against last season's Super Bowl teams in the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs.

The NFC is so daunting, though, that 6-5-1 is good enough for ninth place in the conference standings.

The 9-4 San Francisco 49ers occupy the final playoff spot, while Dallas is also behind the 7-5 Detroit Lions. Yet the Cowboys have a head-to-head matchup against the Lions on Thursday with the opportunity to move up a spot in the NFC pecking order.

If they can do that, three of their final four games are against teams with losing records.

That means the high-powered offense that is inspiring jealousy from others in the NFL may be taking the field come playoff time if it can continue playing at such a high level.
