Who Does Mel Kiper Rank as No. 1 Prospect for 2026 NFL Draft?
ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. believes that Oregon quarterback Dante Moore is the top player in the 2026 NFL draft.
The longtime draft guru wrote that Moore is "poised and accurate, sitting third in the FBS in completion percentage (72.5 percent). I really like his deep-ball touch, and he's good enough with his legs when he needs to scramble. And Moore hasn't really had a perfect situation—he has played multiple games in the rain and has missed key players at wide receiver, tight end and offensive line due to injuries. It's tough to stand out in those conditions, but he has looked great. The biggest question will be Moore's experience; he is a third-year sophomore with 17 career starts."

ESPN's Jordan Reid added that he believes Moore is one of three quarterbacks to have a first-round grade this year, joining Indiana's Fernando Mendoza and Alabama's Ty Simpson, though both Simpson and Moore could return for another college season.
As for Moore, he's thrown for 2,733 yards, 24 touchdowns and six interceptions this season while rushing for 191 yards and a score. Oregon is poised to return to the College Football Playoff after an 11-1 season.
