Will Justin Herbert Play in Chargers-Eagles? Jim Harbaugh Discusses QB's Injury Status
Los Angeles Chargers star quarterback Justin Herbert's status for Monday night's game against the Philadelphia Eagles remains up in the air due to his hand injury.
Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh told reporters on Wednesday that they will have to "see how the week goes" before determining if Herbert can play on Monday Night Football. He added that Herbert won't practice on Wednesday but will be present for the team's walkthrough.
That said, Herbert told reporters Wednesday the plan is for him to prepare to play on Monday night.

Herbert suffered a fracture in his left hand that required surgery during the Chargers' 31-14 win over the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 13, but he didn't expect to miss any time, per ESPN's Kris Rhim.
"It's one of those things where you just stabilized it, and I'm not the doctor, unfortunately, but they were hopeful," Herbert said after the game. "So, I think that's a good thing."
Herbert's injury created a tough situation for a Chargers team that is looking to make the playoffs for the second straight year, as all of their final five opponents are competing for a spot in the postseason. Four of those teams also made the playoffs last year.
Herbert has been a steady leader for Los Angeles this year, throwing for 2,842 yards, 21 touchdowns and 10 interceptions through 12 games while leading the team to an 8-4 record.
If Herbert is forced to miss time, the Chargers would be forced to turn to backup quarterback Trey Lance. The 2021 No. 3 pick has played sparingly this season, throwing for 90 yards in his three brief appearances.
