Week 14 Waiver Wire Breakout Fantasy Football Pickups from Sunday's Box Scores

Erik BeastonNov 30, 2025

With injuries and poor performance plaguing fantasy rosters deep in to the 2025 season, the importance of recognizing the best waiver wire pickups based on the current week's box scores is magnified.

Such is the case in Week 14, with two young wide receivers and a tight end standing out as potential additions for managers seeking depth on their rosters.

Alec Pierce, WR, Indianapolis Colts

The idea that Pierce is rostered in just over 40 percent of total leagues is astonishing given the play-making wide receiver that he is.

The deep ball threat out of the University of Cincinnati is averaging 20.9 yards per catch in 2025. While he had only one touchdown entering the Week 13 showdown against Houston, he reminded fantasy managers why he should be on every roster.

The fourth-year man caught four balls on five targets for 78 yards and a touchdown, good enough to be 12th at his position in PPR leagues through the early slate.

It was his third double-digit fantasy performance and third top-20 finish at his position.

While some will note his lack of scoring as a reason not to pick him up and at least stash him, he is a potential game-changer in a high-powered offense and could be the missing ingredient for teams on the verge of missing their league's playoffs.

Brenton Strange, TE, Jacksonville Jaguars

The tight end position has been the toughest to predict in fantasy in 2025 but Strange has been oddly consistent in the seven games he has appeared in.

The third-year player out of Penn State has three top-10 performances in PPR leagues at the position while two of the four remaining saw him finish 16th and 17th.

In Week 13 against Tennessee, Strange caught three of four targets for 45 yards and his first touchdown of the season.

Like Pierce, his lack of scoring may cause concern for some managers but he has been targeted at least four times in six of those games and catches far more than he does not.

Parker Washington, the other Jaguars breakout waiver addition, is suffering from a hip injury that should leave Jacksonville looking for another target for quarterback Trevor Lawrence as he looks to fuel his team back to the playoffs.

Strange can be that target and managers should recognize it now before an opponent does.

Isaac TeSlaa, WR, Detroit Lions

This is more of a pick based on potential than anything.

The Detroit Lions' offense suffered a major blow Thursday when Amon-Ra St. Brown went down with an ankle injury, leaving Jared Goff with one less target to get the ball to. While St. Brown is not expected to miss a lengthy period of time, the Lions will need someone to step up in the interim, especially with Kalif Raymond out and Sam LaPorta missing the rest of the season following back surgery.

Enter TeSlaa, who has delivered flashes of brilliance in the few opportunities he has had to do so.

The rookie wideout from Arkansas has six catches this season, three of which were for touchdowns.

He is not a big YAC guy (just three yards), but he is averaging 16.7 yards per catch and has a nose for the end zone when given the chance to play. With fewer targets for Goff to throw to, do not be surprised to see TeSlaa get more touches and potentially become a fantasy factor down the stretch.

The highlight machine is available in over 90 percent of leagues right now and a strong option for managers in deeper leagues to grab and stash.
