NFL coach calls CFB transfer players 'clowns'
Mason Rudolph replaced him on the game's next series and promptly threw an interception.
Rodgers was able to return midway through the third quarter, however:
Rodgers spent about 10 minutes in the medical tent having a gash on his nose closed up and bandaged, per the CBS broadcast.
He finished the game 10-of-21 for 117 yards, as the Steelers dropped to 6-6 with Sunday's 26-7 loss.
The veteran quarterback also came into the day dealing with three fractures in his left wrist but was "adamant about playing," according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, who added that his teammates have been "impressed with the quarterback's resolve."
"Just more reps certainly, but certainly it's another week," head coach Mike Tomlin told reporters when asked what he saw this past week to clear Rodgers to start. "And so I'm sure there's more comfort there—not only in him, but in the medical experts."
The 2025 season has been an up-and-down affair for both Rodgers and the Steelers. Coming into Sunday's pivotal matchup, he'd thrown for 1,969 yards, 19 touchdowns and seven interceptions, taking 19 sacks while completing 66.4 percent of his passes.
And Bosa and the Bills weren't about to make life easier on either Rodgers or the Steelers. That much was made abundantly clear on the third-quarter sack that temporarily knocked the veteran quarterback out of the game.
