After riding high following last week's win over the Las Vegas Raiders, Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders quickly came back down to earth.
The Browns suffered a 26-8 loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday at home in Sanders' second career start. The 23-year-old went 16-of-25 for 149 yards and a touchdown in the loss.

Sanders admitted after the game that he "didn't play well" and accepted responsibility for Cleveland's offensive struggles.
"I just gotta be better overall," Sanders told reporters. "I gotta be able to rally everybody together when adversity is hitting."
Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski announced that Sanders will remain the team's starting quarterback for next Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans.
Despite the lackluster production, Sanders had multiple instances where he looked like he could be Cleveland's franchise quarterback. He threw a 34-yard touchdown in the second quarter that briefly gave the Browns an 8-7 lead following a two-point conversion.
"We practiced it for weeks," Sanders said of his touchdown pass. "We got the look we wanted and we executed."
Sanders briefly exited the game to be evaluated after taking a hard hit, and fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel took over. He completed his lone pass for no gain before Sanders re-entered the game and finished things off. He told reporters afterward that he was dealing with "a little ankle issue," but he's "good."
While the loss put an end to the positive vibes in Cleveland, Sanders will use it as a learning experience as he tries to prove himself as the quarterback of the future for the Browns.
Sanders and Cleveland (3-9) will try to bounce back next Sunday when they face the Titans (1-10).
