Will Keon Coleman Play vs. Steelers After Being Benched Twice by Bills?

After spending the past couple of weeks on the bench, Buffalo Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman reportedly made his way back into the lineup.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that Coleman "is expected to be active" for Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Coleman was a healthy scratch from the Bills' loss to the Houston Texans on Thursday Night Football in Week 12 after being benched for being late to a team meeting ahead of the team's Week 11 in over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He has now missed playing time due to disciplinary issues four times in his young career, as he sat out the first quarter of a game against the Jacksonville Jaguars in his rookie season in 2024 and the first series against the New England Patriots in Week 5.

A second-round pick in the 2024 draft, Coleman has shown flashes of incredible potential, but he's yet to put it all together. He acknowledged that his continued disciplinary issues have held him back.

"I mean, I knew that," Coleman said after the game against the Buccaneers, regarding when he realized he was going to be inactive. "S--t, you can't keep doing it. You can't make those type of mistakes. You're a professional."

In nine games this season, Coleman has 32 catches for 330 yards and three touchdowns. Despite sitting out the last two games, he still ranks second on the team in receptions.

Rapoport also noted that veteran wideout Brandin Cooks, who recently signed with the Bills after being released by the New Orleans Saints, is expected to play against the Steelers. Perhaps having more talent on the outside will open up more opportunities for Coleman to show what Buffalo has been missing for the past two weeks.
