Latest on Allen's Practice Status Ahead of Week 7
Wednesday, Oct. 21

However, Gehlken added there is still optimism surrounding his status for Week 7's clash with the Oakland Raiders and noted the wideout ran on the treadmill on Thursday.
Allen Trying to Rebound from Injury-Riddled 2014 Campaign
The third-year wide receiver appeared in the Chargers' first 14 games last season before suffering a broken collarbone and an ankle injury against the Denver Broncos. He then proceeded to miss San Diego's final two games. The Chargers missed the playoffs and finished second in the AFC West.
Since joining the Chargers in 2013, Allen has been one of Philip Rivers' favorite targets. Because he's capable of lining up inside and outside, he has emerged as San Diego's most versatile receiver at 6'2" and 211 pounds despite last season's statistical decline.
After catching 71 passes for 1,046 yards and eight touchdowns as a rookie, Allen grabbed 77 balls for a total of 783 yards and four scores during the 2014 season. But even though he missed two games last year, Rivers targeted him 16 more times (121 total) than he did throughout the 2013 season. Thus far in 2015, Allen leads the Chargers with 53 receptions for 601 yards and three touchdowns.
With the rest of San Diego's receiving corps dealing with injuries as well, the Chargers will be happy to get Allen back in the lineup.
