Buy or Sell Latest on WWE Survivor Series WarGames, Britt Baker's AEW Status and More

Chris RolingNov 28, 2025

It's easy to fall behind on the pro wrestling rumor mill for WWE and AEW around the holidays.

Now is the worst time of year, perhaps literally ever, to let that happen, though.

After all, WWE's charging headfirst into the latest rendition of Survivor Series, where a men's WarGames match could provide a preview of the next WrestleMania main event.

Beyond that headline item, there's the usual wrestlers-going-to-free-agency items, plus John Cena's final goodbye looming in the background.

Here's the latest must-know rumors and buzz from the pro wrestling rumor mill, plus whether fans should buy or sell on each.

Batista Hall of Fame…explained?

The Rumor

By now, pro wrestling fans have noticed that Batista is a massive omission in WWE's Hall of Fame. But according to Fightful (h/t Randall Ortman of Cageside Seats), the only reason for this is consistent scheduling issues.

Reaction

This would seem like a logical conclusion. Batista, now 56, hasn't been in a WWE ring since 2019. But he's been a mainstay of Hollywood while others from his orbit have been enshrined, so something simple seems like an obvious reason.

Buy or Sell?

Buy. On one hand, how hard could it be to make these stars align? On the other hand, there's really no other good reason to float as to why this hasn't happened yet. Batista's an amazing actor who isn't going to stop getting calls for roles anytime soon, so hopefully a gap in his schedule eventually opens for this.

Britt Baker return update

MAXIM Saints & Sinners Big Game Party

The Rumor

For those fans wanting to see it, don't expect a Britt Baker return to AEW anytime soon. According to Fightful (h/t Ortman), there has been "no word" about a return.

Reaction

Back in July, buzz from the mill hinted Baker wanted out. Understandably, Tony Khan and AEW, if true, wouldn't want that to happen, for fear she might join WWE. She hasn't been in an AEW ring since 2024, around the time of the infamous "nobody cares" thing

Buy or Sell?

An odd one, yet a buy. The speculation has been downright wild amongst fans about Britt's status in AEW. But so many high-profile moments where the promotion could have hinted at her return have passed, which lends credibility here.

AEW Superstar heading to free agency?

TBS's AEW Dynamite Los Angeles Debut After Party

The Rumor

Anna Jay might be the next pro wrestling free agent to keep in mind. According to Fightful (h/t Ortman), the 27-year-old, fast-rising star is keeping all options open ahead of an upcoming contract expiration.

Reaction

This was a matter of time. Jay has been a fun element of AEW programming since 2020, notably working with both The Dark Order and The Jericho Appreciation Society. She's had singles work along the way, too, but has recently been on the tag circuit.

Buy or Sell?

Easiest buy of the week, really. Wrestlers could do themselves a disservice by not checking in free agency to see what's out there. And Jay has immense experience in Japan. There's WWE to consider, too. While the women's roster over there is stacked, who's to say she doesn't want the chance at feuds in WWE as a singles act?

AEW stars and losses speculation

4 of 5
New Japan Pro-Wrestling - Wrestle Dynasty

The Rumor

Meta conversations around pro wrestling continue in these behind-the-curtain times, with the subject of wrestlers being willing to take losses one of those talking points. Meltzer (h/t Ortman) recently pointed out that fans can "tell the guys who don't want to lose" based on booking.

Reaction

It's an interesting take, and Mercedes Moné has long been at the forefront of these fan discussions. She has, after all, lost just seven matches in AEW. Two of those were solo. But in the same commentary, Meltzer said he's never heard of such problems around her.

Buy or Sell?

Sell on this consistent fan chatter. Wrestlers know they have to lose. A headliner like Moné, just like major stars such as Roman Reigns and others, can't be eating pins every night. And really, fan speculation about this around any talent, if nothing else, is something promotions can lean into when building characters and storylines, at least.

Survivor Series hints at 'Mania main event?

5 of 5
Monday Night RAW

The Rumor

Maybe the men's WarGames match at Survivor Series isn't just throwing big names in there for the sake of having big names. Wrestling Observer Radio's Dave Meltzer (h/t Ortman) was "given the impression" the teases around the main event will signal the main event of 'Mania next year.

Reaction

For those curious, the men's WarGames match in question:

  • CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, The Usos (Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso), and Roman Reigns vs. The Vision (Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed), Logan Paul, Drew McIntyre and Brock Lesnar (with Paul Heyman)

Obviously, it feels like a layup to suggest that WWE, in some form, will make up the main event at 'Mania from some of the following names.

Buy or Sell?

Sell. WWE's probably going to hint at many different types of feuds during and around the match. That's just smart booking. Plans can change, injuries happen, etc., between now and 'Mania. If something needs to change, they'll have video footage of "hints" and stuff. But WWE itself probably doesn't know the main event this far out and wouldn't want to make weekly shows skippable between now and 'Mania because fans already know what they've cooked up.
