NFL Fans Doubt Jalen Hurts, Eagles as Contenders After Loss to Caleb Williams, Bears

After Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles fell 24-15 to the Chicago Bears on Friday at home, fans are beginning to doubt the Eagles as serious contenders after an up and down season.

With the loss, the Eagles dropped to 8-4 but remain atop the NFC East in playoff position. The Bears improved to 9-3 and moved into sole possession of first place in the NFC North, also firmly in the playoff picture.

In the loss, Hurts threw for 230 yards and two touchdowns with one interception while completing 19-of-34 passes, connecting with A.J. Brown for both scores. Saquon Barkley added 56 yards on 13 carries.

Fans reacted to the Eagles' dwindling outlook after Friday's loss.

Caleb Love finished with 154 yards and one touchdown and one interception while completing 17-of-36 passes. 

Chicago took a 10-3 lead at the half after keeping Philadelphia off the field. The third quarter saw multiple turnovers — an interception and fumble from the Eagles and an interception from the Bears. Despite the mistakes, Philadelphia added to its score and trailed 10-9 entering the fourth.

Two touchdowns in the fourth stretched Chicago's lead to 24-9 before the Eagles responded with a late touchdown to cut it to 24-15. Chicago's defense came up big in the fourth to keep the Eagles out of scoring range to secure the win. 

The Eagles will head to Green Bay to face the Packers next Sunday.
