Shedeur Sanders, Browns Practice in Wild Winter Weather in Video Ahead of 49ers Game

Adam WellsNov 28, 2025

If the current weather is any indication of what's to come this weekend, the San Francisco 49ers and Cleveland Browns probably going to have a lot of fun when they meet on Sunday.

Video from the Browns' practice on Friday shows a mix of rain and snow, plus wind gusts that make it look like seeing far down the field could be an issue.

It has been expected throughout the week that weather was going to play a role in the 49ers-Browns matchup in Cleveland.

Per Weather.com, the forecast for Sunday calls for rain showers in the morning that will turn to snow in the afternoon with steady winds between 25-35 mph and gusts stronger than that.

DraftKings Sportsbook currently has the over/under for this game set at 35.5, with a slight lean toward the over (-118; bet $118 to win $100).

That total is also impacted by Cleveland's defense being ranked fourth in DVOA, led by Myles Garrett with 18 sacks in 11 games and the 49ers coming off a sloppy win over the Carolina Panthers in which Brock Purdy threw three first-half interceptions.

San Francisco will also be traveling across the country to play in Cleveland after playing on Monday Night Football.

Cleveland's offense also isn't exactly lighting up the scoreboard this season, even with Shedeur Sanders taking over at quarterback. The fifth-round rookie had a couple of highlight moments in a 24-10 win over the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 12, but the overall results were pretty rough with the caveat it was his first career start.

Given what the weather could look like on Sunday, it could be hard to come up with real narratives about either of these teams regardless of the outcome.

The 49ers have a lot more at stake in this game since they currently own the final playoff spot in the NFC with an 8-4 record.

Even though a loss will keep the Niners in that spot for at least another week because the teams right behind them—Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys—already have five losses and at least one fewer win, a victory would allow them to create some separation in the postseason race with four games remaining in the regular season.

The Browns do want to see what Sanders can do while he remains in a starting role, but their 3-8 record makes a path to the postseason virtually impossible unless they can win out.
