Delvin Breaux: A Broken Neck and the Greatest NFL Comeback Story Ever

B/R StudiosFeatured ColumnistJuly 28, 2015

He should have been dead.

Just two days after celebrating his 17th birthday, highly recruited high school senior Delvin Breaux broke multiple vertebrae in his neck after making a hit. After his surgery and years of rehab, Delvin attended Louisiana State University. The school honored his scholarship, but he never took a snap for the LSU Tigers.

Determined to make his NFL dreams a reality, he played for a few semi-pro teams in his hometown of New Orleans. He then became a dominant defensive back in the Canadian Football League for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and eventually drew the attention of NFL teams, including his hometown New Orleans Saints.

See how Delvin's impossible story turns out. The kid who should have died on the field is about to make the comeback of a lifetime.

Special thanks to Traction CSE, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the Breaux family for all their help.
