Aaron Rodgers Says Steelers Need to Tighten Up 'Serious Approach,' Talks Wrist Injury

Julia StumbaughNov 26, 2025

Aaron Rodgers is ready for the Pittsburgh Steelers to "tighten up" after losing four of their last six games heading into Week 13.

"This is the time where the focus maybe has to go up a little bit more, and the serious approach needs to maybe tighten up a little bit more," Rodgers told reporters Wednesday (h/t 93.7 The Fan). "I love what a loose team we are. Sometimes you've got to maybe crank that thing up, just to maybe one percent, and get a little bit more locked in."

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said last weekend that Rodgers, who sat out Sunday's Week 12 loss to the Chicago Bears due to a fracture in his left wrist, is expected to play in this Sunday's Week 13 matchup against the Buffalo Bills.

Tomlin has previously said Rodgers' injury won't necessitate surgery, and that his availability would depend on his ability to protect and brace himself.

Rodgers was wearing a cast on his broken wrist during Wednesday's practice. He said he wasn't ready to take snaps "yet," per The Athletic's Mike DeFabo.

The Steelers quarterback told reporters he plans to rejoin practice Thursday and evaluate how he feels, per ESPN's Brooke Pryor.

When asked what the biggest difference was between last week and this week, Rodgers answered, "Time. Time for healing."

The Steelers entered November leading the AFC North, but have since fallen into a tie with the Baltimore Ravens after alternating wins and losses for the last month.

Mason Rudolph will get a second straight start this weekend if Rodgers is unable to play. It sounds like whether the Steelers can expect to get their starting quarterback back instead will depend in part on how Rodgers responds to Thursday's practice.
