Deion Sanders Reveals Message to Shedeur in Viral Tunnel Video Before 1st Browns Start

Deion Sanders just wanted his son to be himself during his first career NFL start.

The Colorado head coach and Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders shared an embrace before Sunday's game between the Browns and Las Vegas Raiders, and Deion Sanders revealed Tuesday what he said to his son.

"Love you. You know I had to be here," he said (23:30 mark). "Relax. Be you. God has given you everything that you need to be successful. Allow those abilities to come forth. Don't try to force nothing. Don't try to do nothing that you're not capable of doing."

Shedeur Sanders clearly took the advice well because he demonstrated significant improvement from his first career appearance to his first career start.

After going 4-of-16 for 47 yards, zero touchdowns and one interception in an ugly performance in place of the injured Dillon Gabriel the previous week against the Baltimore Ravens, Sanders bounced back in impressive fashion in the 24-10 win over the Raiders.

He went 11-of-20 passing for 209 yards, one touchdown and one interception while taking just a single sack.

While Dylan Sampson did most of the work on the short pass that went for a 66-yard touchdown, Sanders showed far more poise in the pocket and a control of the offense. It was apparent a full week of practice with the starting offense benefitted him after he was thrown into the game against the Ravens.

Facing a 2-9 Las Vegas team also helped, but Sanders will take plenty of individual momentum into the upcoming contest against the San Francisco 49ers.

And his father will likely have some more advice as well.
