CMC Amazes NFL Fans in Revenge Game vs. Panthers as 49ers Win Despite Purdy's 3 INTs
Christian McCaffrey and the San Francisco 49ers grabbed a 20-9 home win over his former team on Monday despite Brocky Purdy's struggles.
McCaffrey, the 2017 No. 8 overall pick by the Carolina Panthers, was traded to San Francisco in 2022 for future draft picks after a talented Panthers core featuring Cam Newton, Greg Olsen, DJ Moore, Luke Kuechly and McCaffrey failed to break through, reaching the postseason only once during McCaffrey's rookie year before falling in the Wild Card round.

Fans reacted to CMC's standout showing against the Panthers on Monday.
With the win, the 49ers improved to 8-4 on the season but remain third in the competitive NFC West, trailing the 9-2 Los Angeles Rams and 8-3 Seattle Seahawks.
The 49ers held a 10-3 lead at halftime in a sloppy first half that saw both quarterbacks struggle to get their offenses going. Purdy threw an interception in the first quarter and two more in the second but still managed to guide San Francisco to a touchdown lead at the break.
McCaffrey's touchdown came in the third quarter, barreling up the left side on a 12-yard run to extend the 49ers' lead to 17-3. The Panthers responded with a touchdown before the quarter ended, cutting the deficit to 17-9 heading into the fourth.
San Francisco extended its lead to 20-9 with a field goal early in the fourth quarter, a margin that held for the victory.
The 49ers will hit the road to face the Cleveland Browns next Sunday.
