Ravens Have a Wild New QB Room

NFL Playoff Picture 2025, Week 13 Standings, Wild Card Info, Super Bowl Bracket Odds

The Los Angeles Rams took control of the NFC with their second straight commanding win over a playoff contender.

Sean McVay's side now controls the race for home-field advantage in the NFC. It has a favorable schedule to keep it in that spot ahead of the Philadelphia Eagles.

The New England Patriots are still on top of the AFC, but the real story in that conference is the wild-card race.

The Kansas City Chiefs are one of three 6-5 teams a game back of all three wild-card teams at 7-4.

  • The AFC wild-card race possesses the most drama of any NFL playoff race.

The Kansas City Chiefs needed to claw back to beat the Indianapolis Colts just to sit in 10th place in the AFC.

Kansas City is the biggest name outside the playoff bubble. It is at a disadvantage with head-to-head losses to the Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars.

Kansas City can even up the regular-season series with the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 15. The Chiefs could pick up a vital tiebreaker over the Houston Texans at home in Week 14.

The Chargers and Jaguars could have trouble holding on to their wild-card spots.

Los Angeles has one more game left against Kansas City and the AFC West-leading Denver Broncos. It also has to play the Texans, Eagles and the resurgent Dallas Cowboys.

Jacksonville plays the Indianapolis Colts twice and visits Denver in Week 16.

Losses in any of those tough matchups will open the door for not just the Chiefs, but for the Texans and Pittsburgh Steelers to hop into the wild-card spots.

  • The Rams are now on a six-game winning streak.

Their last two victories were the most impressive triumphs in that run because they took down the Seattle Seahawks and Tampa Bay Buccaneers with their dominant defense.

The Rams need to stay one game ahead of the Philadelphia Eagles because the NFC East leader owns the head-to-head tiebreaker.

Philadelphia has plenty of problems of its own after its collapse against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

Dallas' win kept it on the fringe of the wild-card race, but that might be a short-lived mindset if the Cowboys can't beat the Chiefs on Thanksgiving Day.

The NFC wild-card race will be under the Monday night spotlight with the Carolina Panthers travelling to face the San Francisco 49ers.

A Carolina win would put four teams at seven wins in the wild-card hunt, while a San Francisco creates a bit of separation in the standings.

Thursday's opener between the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions will have a significant impact on the wild-card race as well.

Detroit has one of the toughest remaining schedules in the NFL with Green Bay, Dallas, the Rams, Steelers, Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears.

The Lions likely need to go 4-2 during that stretch to overtake the Packers or 49ers.
