Chip Kelly Landing Spots, What's Next for Former Raiders Offensive Coordinator?
Chip Kelly is out in Las Vegas after just a season at the helm.
The Raiders fired their offensive coordinator after Sunday's loss to the Cleveland Browns.
With Kelly now out of a job, here's a look at some possible landing spots for the veteran coach.

Ohio State (Assistant)

Before Kelly left the collegiate ranks to become the NFL's highest-paid offensive coordinator, he helped lead Ohio State to a national championship as the team's offensive coordinator.
After his failed tenure in Las Vegas, going back to Columbus could be the best move for Kelly.
When Kelly left UCLA to take the coordinator position with the Buckeyes, he expressed how much he enjoyed getting to coach without the pressure of being a head coach.
"I actually coached the quarterbacks for the bowl game, and I just started to think, like I hadn't actually coached a position since 2008," he said. "I think my wife remarked, she was like, 'I haven't seen you this happy in a long time.' And, to me, the best part of football is football. And so, you got to do football, and not do some of the things involved with the head coaching deal."
Ohio State's offensive coordinator position is currently occupied by Brian Hartline, though he has been linked to the Penn State opening. If that job opens up, perhaps Ryan Day—someone Kelly has a long history with—would give him a call.
Even if he doesn't take over as Ohio State's offensive coordinator, it wouldn't be surprising for him to land a job as some kind of assistant in Columbus.
Cal (Head Coach)

Cal became the latest Power 4 school to fire its head coach on Sunday when it parted ways with Justin Wilcox after nine seasons at the helm.
Kelly has spent a significant amount of his career on the West Coast at Oregon, UCLA and his brief stint with the San Francisco 49ers, and he could return to the Golden State and take over as the Bears' head coach.
Cal hasn't seen sustained success in a while, and Kelly might be the coach who helps them turn things around.
Take a Year Off

Perhaps the best job for Kelly is no job at all.
While it's hard for competitors like Kelly to sit idly by rather than being on the sideline, taking a year or so off could help him reset before rejoining the coaching world. After his exit with the Niners in 2016, he spent a season as an analyst with ESPN, so going back into the media world could be an option during his hiatus.
Retirement from coaching could also be an option for the 61-year-old Kelly. Landing the richest offensive coordinator contract and being fired less than a year later means he likely isn't strapped for cash, so he could hang up the headset and pursue other endeavors that don't require the stress of coaching.
