Malik Nabers Just Tweeted then Deleted the Thing Every Giants Fan is Thinking

The Giants had a first-and-goal at the 4-yard line with about four minutes remaining in regulation and a 27-24 lead over the Lions. The Giants called for a run on first down, gaining two yards. The Lions called their first timeout.
The Giants then called a passing play on second down, with Jameis Winston throwing an incompletion. On third down, Devin Singletary lost four yards on a running play, and the Lions burned their second timeout.
The Giants then opted to go for it on fourth down rather than kick the field goal, needing six yards to score. They were stopped, giving the Lions the ball back with just under three minutes remaining and only needing a field goal to force overtime. They would get it on Jake Bates' 59-yard make before winning in overtime.
Nabers seemed to prefer a strategy of running the ball three times, which would have forced the Lions to burn all three timeouts, and kicking the field goal to go up six points. That would have required the Lions to score a touchdown.
The alternative viewpoint is that the Lions have an explosive offense and scoring a touchdown with limited time on the clock—especially against a poor Giants' secondary—was well within the realm of possibility. A New York touchdown in that situation, however, would have essentially sealed the game, and even with a failed conversion the Lions were deep in their own territory.
There are arguments to be made for kicking the field goal or going for the jugular, but when the option you choose doesn't work, criticism will follow. Some of it may even come from within your own organization.
