WWE's Top Tweets, Instagram Photos and Viral Videos for Week of July 20

Ryan DilbertJul 24, 2015

To soak up WWE social media this week, one needed a box of tissues nearby. Interactions with young fans and wrestlers reaching out to their famous fathers created some tear-jerking moments on Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.

Stardust saluted his dad. Charlotte shared her big moment with The Nature Boy. And WWE reminded us just how powerful of a medium it is when it comes to touching kids' lives.

Before we dive into the charity work and tributes from the WWE world, let's first give a nod to Sheamus.

A flight he was on recently had to make an emergency landing. The Celtic Warrior didn't panic. He didn't freak out. He simply took a selfie, oxygen mask and all:

Sheamus got a good deal of media attention for the photo. Several outlets, from For the Win to Fox Sports, covered the incident.

Some of Sheamus' old rivals found their way into WWE's latest "Top 10" video. John Morrison, for example, was among those in the clip who had their signature moves turned against them.

The celebration of memorable reversals also featured the Hart brothers trading a Sharpshooter for a Sharpshooter and Randy Orton delivering an RKO to escape certain defeat:

John Cena pops up a few times as well. That's not surprising as he's been an ever-present sight in the WWE landscape for the last decade or so. A big part of that is how strongly he connects with his fans outside the ring.

We saw another example of that when SportsCenter did a "My Wish" featuring Cena and a young boy named KJ:

Cena wasn't the only one making a young fan's day, though. Triple H and Stephanie McMahon video-chatted with a young boy, offering him an honorary Superstars position.

Forget that the leaders of The Authority are playing straight-up babyfaces here. What's most surprising is that little Elijah names Stardust as his favorite wrestler:

The bizarre persona that Cody Rhodes has adopted and poured himself into hasn't been on display all that much over the past year. Although, he did recently return after his father's death to start feuding with Neville.

Rhodes paid tribute to The American Dream as both himself and as Stardust. The former came in the form of a touching eulogy that he shared with his Twitter followers:

Secondly, donning his Stardust gear, he saluted Dusty Rhodes in a great shot that he posted on his Twitter account:

Charlotte and her own Hall of Fame father had a different kind of moment altogether. After the former NXT women's champ made her pay-per-view debut at Battleground, Ric Flair was right there to offer his support.

Instagram allowed us a look at father and daughter embracing, one champion congratulating another:

And if that's more than enough sappy stuff for you, why not revisit the most watched WWE video of the week?

Undertaker returned to the ring at Battleground, pouncing on the man who ended his famous WrestleMania streak. That attack, as of this writing, has more than three million views:

That's a testament to how much fans still adore The Deadman. It's a huge moment that set up SummerSlam's main event, a moment fans clearly shared across the Internet.

Now if WWE can only get its Raw ratings to move past the 3 million mark again.
