Ricochet is Inaugural AEW National Champion After Full Gear Casino Gauntlet Match Win

Ricochet is the first ever AEW National Champion.

The inaugural belt was handed out after the Casino Gauntlet match Saturday night during AEW Full Gear at Prudential Center in Newark.

Ricochet earned the win by pinning Kevin Knight.

AEW president and CEO Tony Khan first announced the introduction of the new AEW National Champion title on Nov. 5.

Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin fought to start the match. The fight expanded to feature fighters including Ricochet and Knight as well as Claudio, Daniel Garcia, Orange Cassidy, Wheeler Yuta, Rodrick Strong, Mark Davis, Speedball Mike Bailey and Matt Menard.

Knight attempted to end the fight with a UFO Splash on Cassidy before Ricochet took him out with a Spirit Gun.

Ricochet has now won his first belt in AEW. He could now be tasked with defending the traveling title around the world.
