Ayew Switch to Villa Imminent

"Jordan Ayew's Aston Villa medical now complete. Player to sign 5-year deal," reported Mohamed Bouhafsi of RMC1 (translated by Jonathan Johnson of Bleacher Report).

On July 24, Sky Sports reported Villa had a £12 million bid accepted for the player, beating as many as six Premier League clubs to his signature, according to the Daily Mail's Simon Jones.

Ayew is set to join older brother Andre in completing a Premier League move this summer after his sibling moved from Marseille to Swansea City on a free transfer.

The younger Ayew moved to Lorient last year after finding his chances limited at Marseille, and he scored 12 goals and provided five assists in 31 Ligue 1 appearances during the 2014-15 season.

Ayew has been capped by Ghana on 28 occasions and scored eight goals for the Black Stars since making his international debut in 2010, an impressive ratio for the 23-year-old.

However, one might be tempted to question the fee Villa will reportedly spend to land the striker, who hasn't been tested outside France at club level.
