Who Are 49ers' Top WR Targets in 2026 NFL Draft, Free Agency amid Aiyuk Rumors?

Zach BacharNov 21, 2025

The San Francisco 49ers could be on the hunt for wide receiver help during the 2026 offseason.

The Athletic's Dianna Russini and Michael Silver reported Friday that the 49ers are headed for a "stunning divorce" with wideout Brandon Aiyuk.

San Francisco voided the guaranteed money in Aiyuk's contract for 2026 after he "failed to attend meetings and declined to participate in other team activities in recent months," paving the way for his "expected release" at the end of the 2025 season (via Russini and Silver).

With receivers Kendrick Bourne and Jauan Jennings both slated to enter free agency in 2026, the 49ers will look to build around former first-round pick Ricky Pearsall moving forward.

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Dyami Brown could be a 2026 free-agent target for San Francisco despite his lackluster 2025 campaign. Brown has only caught 19 passes for 219 yards and one touchdown in nine games after signing a one-year deal worth $10 million with Jacksonville in March.

Still, he brings upside as a deep threat after averaging 16.4 yards per reception from 2021-23. Brown also showed promise to close out his 2024 campaign with the Washington Commanders, recording 14 catches for 229 yards in three playoff games.

If the 49ers want to focus on a cheaper addition in the draft, they could show interest in Tennessee wide receiver Chris Brazzell II.

Brazzell has caught 52 passes for 873 yards and eight touchdowns in 10 games with the Volunteers this season. He was also available when San Francisco was projected to be on the clock in the latest 2026 mock draft from Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Department.

B/R NFL Scout Dame Parson highlighted Brazzell's speed in his scouting report.

"Brazzell possesses the top-end speed to consistently win on vertical and downfield routes," Parson wrote. "He embodies the phrase, 'If he's even, he's leaving.' The combination of his long speed and long strides makes life difficult for opposing defensive backs."

Louisville wideout Chris Bell might also be a draft target for San Francisco, as he was similarly available in the most recent mock from B/R's NFL Scouting Department.

The senior receiver has racked up 871 yards on 67 catches this season, finding the end zone six times.

Parson brought up Bell's physicality as part of his scouting report.

"Bell is a powerful pass-catcher who welcomes contact," Parson wrote. "He possesses a physical and dense frame, allowing him to pinball off would-be tackles in space. He is a glue-guy receiver who is fearless working in the middle of the defense, where the linebackers roam."

For now, the 49ers will focus on returning to the playoffs as they sit at No. 3 in the NFC West standings with a 7-4 record.
