Best known for their red jerseys, the Blackhawks created the alternate black jerseys in the mid-1990s and wore them through the 2008-09 season.
With the exception of their 2014 Stadium Series game against the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Blackhawks have not worn any variation of that particular black jersey since 2009.
The Blackhawks are performing above expectations this season, as they currently hold the second wild-card spot in the Western Conference, and the return of the black uniforms will provide even more excitement to an already entertaining season.
